Brain Breaks, Corporate Creative Clubs and Team building that doesn’t suck

team building sessions so good your staff don’t want to skip them

Hi, I’m Deb

I run short, punchy, and creative brain breaks, team building that even introverts love, and ongoing creative clubs that build real connection at work.

if your team is counting down to 5pm…

we need to talk

Creativity is the fastest way to bring energy, connection, and calm back into a room.

Most “team experiences” are awkward and competitive. My creative experiences are the opposite of that. I design creative moments that are low-pressure, hands-on, and genuinely fun, so your people can exhale and laugh

Whether it’s a 15-minute brain break in the middle of a conference or planning session, a team session that doesn’t make everyone silently dread the calendar invite, or a weekly club that becomes the highlight of the office… I’m here to help you build a workplace culture that feels more human.

Less scrolling. More laughing. More “I needed that.

here's what I do

See what tickles your fancy and we'll figure out the rest together.

1. Brain Breaks

Short, sharp creative resets (usually 10–20 minutes) that you can drop into conferences, planning days, leadership offsites, and long meetings.

Think of it like a palate cleanser for the brain, except it’s fun and you get to make something with your hands.

Brain Breaks are perfect for teams who lose energy, focus, and patience halfway through the agenda (so… all teams).

2. Team Building

Hands-on creative sessions designed for real humans, including the quiet ones. Collaboration beats competition every time.

Options range from blindfolded finger painting, block printing with fruit and veg, slow stitching challenges, and other playful, creative chaos.

This is for teams who want an experience so unexpected they’ll talk about it afterwards (for all the right reasons)

3. Creative Clubs

Ongoing weekly or fortnightly clubs that build skills and community over time (hello Knit Club!).

These are structured, easy to run inside workplaces, and give people something consistent to look forward to. They also open up multiple budget options (wellbeing, culture, learning, sustainability) and have the potential for a charitable outcome, like knitting blankets for people in need.

Creative Clubs are for organisations who want connection that lasts longer than one event and culture that sticks.

hi, I’m Deb

I spent 20 years in banking and insurance, including senior leadership roles, so I get how corporate life actually feels. The meetings, the “quick chats” that steal your afternoon, the post-lunch energy slump that hits like a brick wall. I also know what it’s like to be the person responsible for culture and engagement, trying to make everyone happy with limited time and varying needs

Now I run Hi I’m Deb: creative experiences for workplaces that want something better than the usual. My sessions are designed to be easy to say yes to, easy to facilitate, and genuinely enjoyable for a wide mix of personalities (including the “please don’t make me do icebreakers” crowd).

I make workplaces less weird (in the bad way) and more weird (in the good way).

I care about sustainability, nervous system-friendly creativity, and the kind of connection that doesn’t require anyone to overshare in a circle. I’m also big on play, because adults are not meant to spend their lives staring at rectangles and pretending they are fine.

If you want a workplace experience that’s colourful, practical, and actually fun, we’re probably going to get along just fine.

but don’t just take my word for it

Here’s what happens when teams swap awkward activities for hands-on creativity

knit club in action

The team at 7 News Bright Side Sydney invited me to talk about Knit Club, why I started it, and why I truly think it's one of the best things a workplace can do for their people. Hit play. It's a good one.

  • All kinds. Loud teams, quiet teams, mixed teams, skeptical teams. I design sessions that work for real workplaces, including introverts and people who “aren’t creative.”

  • Brain breaks can work for small groups right up to large conference rooms. Team building sessions and clubs scale depending on space and format. If you tell me your numbers, I’ll recommend the best setup.

  • Minimal. You provide the space and the people. I’ll bring the materials, the plan, and the facilitation. If you want it extra easy, I can also give you a quick run sheet for your internal organiser.

  • Yes! I’m based in Sydney and can travel across Australia for the right fit.

  • Totally normal. I build activities that are low-pressure and easy to start, with clear instructions and lots of permission to just have a go. No one gets put on the spot.

  • Yes. I can run sessions with calmer lighting, smaller groups, and a gentler pace. If your team has access needs, tell me and we’ll design it accordingly.

Your people don’t need more motivation. They need a moment to breathe, laugh, and come back online as humans. A small creative reset can change the entire mood of a room. If you want more energy and more connection, let’s make it happen.
